Hermès

Imagine this: You tap the iPhone power button through your Hermès leather case, only to find the battery has run out. You check your Hermès Apple Watch — only to find that’s out of juice, too. Perhaps you flick open the Hermès case carrying your AirPods and find that the little power light doesn’t flicker on there, either. The only solution? A Hermès Paddock charger.

Yes, Hermès, the French luxury house famous for opulent leather bags that are infamously difficult to buy, is expanding its already expansive range of leather Apple accessories through a new charger.

The Paddock range spans from a duo charger, featuring two MagSafe zones that allow two devices to simultaneously wirelessly charge and costs $5,150 if you want the accompanying leather case; a Yoyo charger where a woven Hermès USB-C cable wraps around its leather body (also $5,150 with a case); and the slightly cheaper solo charger, priced at $3,725 with a case, but only $1,250 on its own.

The new chargers follow the same blueprint as Hermès’ existing set of Apple accessories, including its power bank from a few years back. The chargers are ostensibly a pretty standard piece of tech, though wrapped in Hermès calfskin leather, which is some of the best material in the biz.

But while there’s no shortage of uber-luxe leather on these wireless chargers, there’s one very important missing piece. These four-figure chargers must be plugged in to work, but if you read the fine print, you’ll notice the warning “wall adapter (not included).”

So, yes, you can now charge your iPhone on Hermès leather — but you’ll have to find a plug first!
