Usually, a long-tongue update gives sneakers an extra sporty look. But in the case of adidas' newest Handball Spezial, the classic model is surprisingly classy with the elongated detail.

Offered in "Core Black," the new Handball Spezial LT features a buttery leather tassel flap for the tongue, stamped with adidas branding, of course.

Underneath, the model offers up an equally nice upper crafted with quality cream-colored leather and finished with golden logos. The results are very much along lines of the Samba Lux model.

adidas' collection of fancy Handball Spezials keeps growing, honestly. The brand has also released pairs made with handspun Harris Tweed wool. We also got some woven leather versions, which looked like Bottega Veneta had taken them for a spin (it ain't an official Bottega collab, though).

The newest long-tongue iteration lands as a very luxe and preppy take on the soccer classic. Really, it should be called the Handball Special LT (Luxe Tongue).
