Remember the adidas Ghost Sprint? It's a ballet shoe now.

It was already flat enough, almost like it was destined for this moment. adidas just cut out the tongue, removed the shoelaces, and added some stretchy Mary Jane-style straps. And then, poof! Out came the Ghost Sprint Ballet.

Aside from the new strapped-in setup, the rest of the shoe is the classic runner. adidas keeps the model's signature slim shape and even its smooth suede-level uppers. And again, it already had the flat rubber soles to take the next step into ballet territory.

Lucky for those enjoying the ballet sneaker era, there's no wait for the Ghost Sprint Ballet (no need to book a flight to Japan, either). It's now available on adidas' website for a cool $100. It lands in three stylish debut colorways, including black, lavender, and beige.

adidas has several ballet-style models to its name, like the Samba Jane, Taekwondo Mei Elite, and Tokyo MJ. And its efforts have been very on point. More like en pointe.

But the Ghost Sprint Ballet gets weird. And in this case, being the weird ballerina is a good thing.
