Last week, we kicked off our first ever Soundsystem event at the legendary Lot45 in Brooklyn. The concept for the ongoing collaborative party series is simple: bring Highsnobiety's URL community together IRL in an intimate setting that fosters deeper connections within our world. Those who were posted up on the cozy couches could get their hands on a variety of Highsnobiety memorabilia from logo stickers to copies of the highly coveted Issue 16 that were decorated on the tables.

All night long there was nothing but love as guests were surrounded by good music, food, drinks and vibes being spread around on the dance floor deep within the heart of Bushwick. OUT.OF.OFFICE, Amrit, Mike Nasty and In Good Company member MoreSoupPlease soundtracked the party with killer DJ sets before Tommy Genesis rolled through to turn all the way up with a special surprise performance.

During her soundcheck, Genesis expressed her excitement about being the first artist to headline Highsnobiety Soundsystem. "I love Highsnob. When I was first starting out they gave me a spread and they didn't have to. I always fucked with them for that," she said. "I'm just gonna have a good time, put on a good fucking show and play my music. I love New York, I always have the most fun shows here. It's a good community."

The Vancouver-bred experimental rapper had the whole crowd moshing to hard hitting bangers off her forthcoming album like "Tommy" and "100 Bad" as well as old faves including "Empty" and "Execute." Before she slipped out into the night, Genesis also blessed us with an unreleased track called "Daddy."

Those that couldn't make it out were able to live vicariously through the experience on Highsnobiety's IG TV channel and Instagram Stories. Re-live the hot summer night in the recap video above.
