This $15 Million G-Wagon Can Fly
The Airbus ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Edition is essentially an SUV that can fly. More specifically, it’s a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, or a G-Wagon as it's colloquially known, that can fly 20,000 feet into the sky.
Designed specifically for corporate clients seeking a comfortable ride, the ACH145 was already a luxurious ride but Mercedes has taken it a step further.
The German carmaker brought a G-Class interior to the spacious cabin that’s capable of carrying up to eight people using over eight different layouts.
Inside the chopper, Mercedes’ touches span from real wood floors and flowing overhead controls to leather seats and polished metal fixings.
The ACH145 has six Mercedes-Benz color and material packages, from the dark brown-themed “Atlas” to the sporty black and yellow “Phoenix” iteration, but if any of the Mercedes-Benz-designed details aren’t cutting it, bespoke options are also possible.
These luxury car trimmings naturally drive up the price of the ACH145, Airbus doesn’t specify exact details but a regular ACH145 fetches around $10 million and estimates place the Mercedes-Benz Edition’s price up to $15 million, a price that ensures limited production — only 26 of Mercedes-ified helicopters have been created since the car company’s Airbus’ partnership began in 2010.
It makes the new $7,500 Mercedes-Benz e-bike look like a bargain.
