After heading to Dayton, Ohio last week, Kanye West brought Sunday Service to his native Chicago yesterday. The homecoming event was emotional for 'Ye who was seen tearing up as fellow Chicago artist Chance the Rapper performed their collaborative track “Ultralight Beam." Last year, Kanye tweeted that Chance helped him reconnect with his Jesus and his Chicago roots.

Before the show started, Kanye held back his security guard telling him "this is my city" before making his way through the crowd by motioning his hands.

Elsewhere in the performance, Kanye played "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1" and "Jesus Walks." During the latter track, Kanye hyped up the crowd with the ad-lib "Ye back in the Chi, everybody screaming out!” Watch highlights below and the full Sunday Service in the video up top.

According to ABC Chicago, tickets to the free event sold out in less than an hour. The service went down Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago.

Those who didn't manage to score one of the 30,000 tickets (and those unwilling to brave the rain) were able to stream the service in its entirety on the Sunday Service website.
