Editor’s Notes: In a collaboration that has been two years in the making, Rick Owens joins sustainable sneaker brand Veja, for a thoughtful new collaboration that focuses on ecological responsibility, not hype. The result is a pared-back version of the Veja sneaker in colors black, butter beige, and dust (a pale gray).

This partnership stays true to Vela's established low-impact sneaker production in Brazil, with a consciously closed supply chain and 45% bio-based materials. The sneaker boasts an L-FOAM cushion made out of 50% Brazilian natural rubber and the 3D-knit (made from recycled plastic bottles) makes the shoe seamless and breathable. The resulting light-weight running shoe is simple without being stark. Owens' detail can be seen in the bicolor tone-on-tone “V” on the side of the shoe

See the gallery below for a closer look at the sneaker. You can pick up a pair through Veja.
