Double Tap to Zoom

We’re two days into September and I’ve already lost count of how many times I’ve talked/written about big coat season. While fall doesn’t officially begin until the autumnal equinox in some three weeks, with temperatures falling and humidity dropping, we’re basically already there.

As you’ll most likely be well aware, as the seasons change, our wardrobes need to too. Out go the shorts and those buckle sandals you only wear on holiday, and in come the big coats, the layers, the warmth. Mmm.

I don’t know about you, but every big coat season I like to treat myself to a new, well, big coat, and more often than not I turn my attention to Scandinavia for inspiration. In particular: Norse Projects.

As it happens (as if I didn’t know), Norse Projects has recently dropped ARKTISK, a collection crafted for exploration of any landscape. In layman's terms: it features massive coats.

Described as a capsule for all conditions, ARKTISK is designed to be uncompromising in its strength and is coupled with technology that is both utilitarian and effective, which is handy.

Engineered using a combination of natural and synthetic fibres, the collection remains true to the Norse Projects values of performance and craftsmanship, with qualities designated to protect, insulate, and thermoregulate the wearer – which is what it’s all about.

To be honest, living in the UK a big coat of such proportions with such qualities renders pretty unnecessary when put against drizzle and grey clouds, but it’s always good to be mountain-ready than not, right?
