Nike's hot take? Making spicy skate shoes.

Nike SB's P-Rod 1 Zoom Air sneaker has received a flaming-hot "Habanero Red" makeover, which inspired by NBA All-Star Weekend, surprisingly.

Paul Rodriguez's signature model takes things back to 2011, referencing the time Kobe Bryant secured the All-Star MVP award while playing for the West team.

The newest P-Rod 1 sneakers are covered in sumptuous red suede, joined by the familiar quilted "P" detailing on the heel, burgundy-colored soles, and gold accents elsewhere. It all plays on the West team's jerseys, down to the gilded lace charm.

Nike relaunched the P-Rod 1 in 2025, teasing its revival during a SNKRS Showcase, which included then-previews of the Air Superfly, Air Max Craze, and skate-y Nike Gato.

The P-Rod 1 stands out as this sleek skate model featuring luxe touches and golf-shoe-like class. The "Habanero Red" iteration lets its best qualities shine, like the all-star skate sneaker it is.

With the 2026 All-Star Weekend just on the horizon, the newest red P-Rod sneaker couldn't have arrived at a better time. Although no release date has been confirmed, the shoes are expected to drop on Nike's website in tandem with the NBA festivities.
