In its former life, the Nike Gato sneaker went from being an indoor soccer star to a beloved skate shoe. Nike has since revived the model as an effortless everyday sneaker — but it's keeping some of that retro sporty charm.

When unveiled earlier this year, the reborn Gato looked almost too stylish for any type of athletic activity, appearing in sleek leather and luscious suede designs. But don't be fooled by this new fashionable vibe — the Gato remains just as ready for a quick indoor game as it was years ago.

The Gato sneaker looks incredibly skate-ready, too. The shoe boasts a classic low-rise build, slightly chunky padding throughout, breathable mesh underlays, and traditional gum soles that promise excellent grip for boards.

It's like Nike made the SB Gato without the skateboarding line (those AF1 skate shoes can relate).

Regardless, it's a clean revival on Nike's part.

The Gato is finally ready to hit the streets after appearing in Nike's SNKRS Showcase alongside other casual-ized retro sports shoes, like the Total 90 football boot.

The Nike Gato is scheduled to drop on October 30 at Naked and Footdistrict in black and white colorways. Seeing how the sneakers are already landing at retailers, it's safe to say the Nike launch isn't too far away.

Finally, it's Gato time again.
