The New Balance 9060 was born cool, having been introduced to the world by Chicago's flyest, Joe Freshgoods.

It's even nicer as a trail-coded mule.

Yes, you read that right. The New Balance 9060 has become a mule.

It's more of a sneaker-sandal hybrid, really. The mule maintains most of the 9060's signature mesh and suede upper as well as its general chunky-soled design. It simply lost its heels but gained a new mule personality, now equipped with a branded back strap.

New Balance's slip-on 9060 sneaker now features an updated shoelace system with an adjustable toggle for easier wear. It also gives the hybridized model a trail-ready vibe, similar to those GORE-TEX 1906 sneakers. Or even the super-exclusive New Balance Kave sandal.

The 9060 mule is set to debut in a few nice colorways, including a classic New Balance Grey option (seen above).

They've already appeared at some overseas stores, but the shoes are supposed to get a wider release on New Balance's website during the summer season.
