Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has announced that amid industry-wide disruption due to Covid-19, Milan Fashion Week will be going ahead, albeit digitally, later this month.

The organization's official statement describes the proceedings as a "landmark antidote to uncertain, rapidly-evolving economic and cultural times."

Running from July 9 to July 13, the inaugural Milano Digital Fashion Week will see Italian brands such as Gucci, Prada, and Ermenegildo Zegna appointed a one-hour slot in which to present SS21 menswear and womenswear pre-collections for a digital audience.

There will also be two live events from Etro and Dolce & Gabbana, and two dedicated "showrooms" for emerging talent, as well as a space for paneling and discussion on how the industry can move forward post-Covid.
