Check out the trailer for the new fashion documentary Martin Margiela: In His Own Words ahead of the film's worldwide release on streaming services this Friday.

Filmed one decade after Margiela's departure from his own label, the documentary offers an unprecedented look into one of the fashion industry's most critically-acclaimed, and most mysterious designers.

The trailer peeks into some of the status-quo defining moments of Margiela's career including the introduction of the veiled model, using ice to alter the color of a garment, the Tabi boot, as well as investigating the designer's efforts to conceal his identity throughout his career.

The film comes from director Reiner Holzemer (director of 2007 Dries Van Noten documentary Dries) and features interviews from fashion editor Carine Roitfeld, fashion journalist Cathy Horyn, and Margiela's former mentor Jean Paul Gaultier.
