Brand: Les Basics

Season: SS20

Buy: lesbasics.net

Key Pieces: Les Basics has teamed up again with Gloverall to offer up Le Ano Rak and Le Car Coat, which present lightweight outerwear options constructed from a mix of cotton and nylon. Each piece is well suited to any number of climates.

Editor’s Notes: Les Basics has made a notable departure from its recognizable, muted aesthetic with a daring progression into new categories; highlighting an emphasis on woven materials and bolder colors. The palette takes inspiration from “the four corners of the globe; cool stone from the North, muted cornflower from the East, vibrant orange from the South and a sage reminiscent of lands covered by the West’s great explorers.”

Such inspirations become apparent across vibrant orange cardigans and a quarter-zip pullover. These shots of color do well to intersect Les Basics' “suitcase wardrobe.” The jackets, tops, and bottoms work with both sides of the fabric, using the reverse for pocket and panel detailing.
