Nike’s Red-Hot Shox Ballerina Sneaker Is Just Warming Up
Nike's Shox Z Calistra debuted in March 2026 as part of a collaboration with Naked, Copenhagen's cool-girl store. We honestly thought the Calistra was made exclusively for the Naked collab. But it turns out, the ballet-minded Nike Shox sneaker seems to only just be getting started.
Labelhood is next up to take the Shox Z Calistra for a spin. The Chinese brand dresses its cutesy Shox shoe in this red-hot colorway, mostly black with a few bright red touches and branding moments. It's quiet with just a hint of fire in its step.
It maintains Calistra's signature Mary Jane-style look, strap and Shox tech included. But the Labelhood's pairs do more than just come in hot. They arrive laced up with red shoelaces, a feature not yet seen before on the Calistra.
Granted, Calistra has been out for less than a month and has had only one collab up until this point. But, interestingly, Labelhood has added shoelaces, almost as if the model is clinging even more to its sneaker roots while still pursuing its dream of becoming the next it-ballet sneaker.
Not to mention, the lacing sort of triggers memories of KNWLS's Air Max Muse Ballet sneaker, which put ballerina-style shoelaces (and extra-sharp point toes) on the reworked Air Max model.
There's something happening with Nike's balletcore shoes. Ballet sneakers are already a pretty weird phenomenon as is. But Nike's saying, let's get weirder. Its introducing offbeat ballet sneakers on its own. At the same time, collaborators like Labelhood have also understood the assignment, placing their own unique twists on Nike's "sneakerina" models.
Speaking of which, Labelhood's fiery Nike Shox Z Calistra sneaker is expected to release on its website and Nike China's SNKRS app on April 15.
