During a performance at Awaken 2020, Kanye West opened up about his struggle with alcoholism.

Backed by his Sunday Service choir, West spoke candidly about his decision to quit drinking, and his invocation of the mantra, “Devil you're not gonna finna beat me today,” which has helped him maintain sobriety.

Throughout his career, West has been forthcoming about his various addictions, and his failed attempts at sobriety.

As part of the 10-hour-long prayer rally in Arizona, West opened up about the specific moment he decided to quit.

"There was some vodka in the refrigerator at my office, and sometimes I would just go ahead and take a drink from it in the middle of the day. I was walking toward that kitchenette area, and I stopped myself and I said, 'Devil you're not gonna finna beat me today,' and it's something that we take on, day by day. Every day that I don't pick up that drink, I beat the devil." Watch it below.
