For the superstitious, black cats are probably at the top of the list of animals to avoid, as they're often believed to bring "bad luck." But crossing paths with Nike's "Black Cat" Air Jordan 3 sneakers is a good thing.

Well, if you can get your hands on them, then you're really lucky, that is.

Since last year, whispers of the "Black Cat" 3s have swirled around the sneaker universe, later joined by early looks at the born-again shoe. But it wasn't until Nike loaded the pairs on its launch calendar that we knew the "Black Cat" Jordans would officially pounce back in 2025.

The "Black Cat" Jordan 3s return in nearly OG condition, as if they stepped straight out of 2007 a.k.a when the original pairs debuted. The sneakers feature a tasteful blend of incredibly sleek patent leather details, lusciously smooth nubuck, and high-quality genuine leather, all wrapped in the timeless stealthy "Black Cat" colorway derived from Michael Jordan's nickname.

Now, the moment you've been probably reading for: Nike's Air Jordan 3 "Black Cat" release details. The iconic sneaker will make its official return on Saturday, January 11. Fans can catch the drop on Nike's SNKRS app at 10AM EST sharp.

You know what they say about cats? They get nine lives. Do I hear eight more revivals, Nike? Eh, maybe not for the "Black Cat" Jordan 3s. But the brand is anticipated to resurrect plenty more epic Jordan sneakers this year, like the "Bred" AJ1s, to celebrate the Jordan Brand's 40th anniversary.

Right now, the streets are saying the Air Jordan 5 "Black Metallic" sneakers are next up for this legendary year of drops.
