Double Tap to Zoom

Famously grumpy writer Fran Lebowitz made a rare red carpet appearance at the premiere of Succession season four. While the stars of the show didn't stray far from its sartorial universe, Lebowitz remained firmly in her own stylistic sphere.

Unsurprisingly, the uniform dresser — who favors jeans and Savile Row blazers over designer gear — attended the buzzy event in her signature outfit: a sharp overcoat worn over a men's button down, Levi's 501s, and brown cowboy boots.

The cherry on top? Lebowitz's deadpan, unsmiling expression. (Cue: many captions resembling some version of "Me, showing up at an event I didn't want to attend in the first place.)

Despite what Lebowitz's unexcited air might suggest, we can only assume that she genuinely wanted to be there. After all, the self-proclaimed "hermit" rarely makes public appearances — we can only imagine that the events she does attend are outings she's enthusiastic about.

Other headline appearances from the night: a noticeably pregnant Sarah Snook (who stars as Shiv Roy, the Roy family's only daughter); Kieran Culkin (Roman Roy, the youngest Roy son), who donned a pretty conservative Zegna suit; and Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy, Waystar Royco's initial heir apparent), decked out in Lanvin sneakers.

Succession season four — the show's grand finale — premieres on March 26. If it got Lebowitz out of the house, it's bound to be a banger.
