BEAMS

Dynamic duos don't get more consistent than BEAMS and Clarks, who've collaborated on hit after hit. But Clarks' latest banger isn't actually affiliated with BEAMS, though it sure seems to be inspired by their history.

Having already dished up exclusive Wallabees, furnished in suede and fitted with GORE-TEX or stripped of laces, BEAMS and Clarks would be forgiven for forsaking their favored silhouette for a new one.

Much like in C.P. Company's recent Clarks team-up, the Desert Trek is rendered in a versatile hue and fully waterproof.

Here, the Desert Trek is fitted with GORE-TEX lining to affect seasonal protection, executed in black or "Sand Suede" to refresh its visage and fitted with a cleated Vibram outsole for maximum grip.

And, to top things off, the shoe is available overseas via Clarks' web store for $230.

On BEAMS' web store, where the shoe will drop in April for ¥33k (about $270), the Japanese retailer claims to be launching the "Sand Suede" colorway as an exclusive, which makes me wonder if it had any input on these nifty weatherproof Desert Treks.

If not, BEAMS definitely must have inspired the design.

The Japanese store's previous Clarks collabs included GORE-TEX lining, Vibram soles, and muted black colorways, so this new model definitely seems to have been schooled in BEAMS' know-how.

Either way, it's just nice to see some solid Clarks drop overseas for once. Let's make this a regular thing, actually.

Meanwhile, Clarks recently kept up its ongoing partnership with Ronnie Fieg of KITH, dropping a fresh round of tweaked 8th Street silhouettes.
