For nearly half a century, Bosideng has advanced the art and science of down, cementing its status as a leader in designing for the shifting space between city life and the outdoors. The Chinese brand is particularly recognized for its breakthroughs in down quality and is rapidly gaining global momentum. Its innovative jackets have earned multiple ISPO awards, and this year the brand marked a major milestone with its debut at Paris Fashion Week.

Bosideng was also present at ISPO at 520M, co-hosted by Highsnobiety and ISPO, where it unveiled its new Vertex Dibian collection.

Marking the next leap forward with its down offerings, Bosideng’s Vertex Dibian series is a modular, technical lifestyle capsule created in partnership with visionary designer Errolson Hugh. Comprising an insulating layer and a waterproof layer that can be worn individually or together, the series introduces a number of compelling innovations from Bosideng.

Looking to the natural world for inspiration, the collection mimics avian anatomy to create what Hugh and Bosideng describe as “temperature controlling” technology. Adjustable feather-like down channels structured across the wearer’s back can be filled or emptied of air volume, effectively regulating warmth between 0° and 20°C.

The series also places consideration on articulated movement, with special pattern adaptations to the elbow and underarm that ensure fluid ease of movement. Lastly, Bosideng also worked with GORE-TEX to jointly develop an elasticized shell that remains windproof and rainproof, while offering comfortable stretch.
