What the Internet Is Saying: The reaction isn’t as viscerally negative as it was before the original Foam Runner was released — probably, in part, because people have seen the sandal’s insane resale value. The opinion is still split, though there are a lot more people that want a pair now.

What We’re Saying: Kanye West’s adidas YEEZY Foam Runner is an enigma, like most of his work. The rubber sandal has only been released in one launch colorway thus far, with two more set to arrive in Europe on March 26. This means that the design has yet to warm to most of his fans, who usually need a few releases to come around to ’Ye’s aesthetic on new footwear.

The same happened with subsequent versions of the 700 series and happened with the 500 highs and lows. At first, the sneakers are clowned on social media. Before long, however, everyone you know either wants a pair or has one.

The adidas YEEZY Foam Runner is made using a type of algae, which is apparently a more sustainable alternative to traditional construction techniques. The sandal is also made in the USA. Two colorways — MXT Moon Grey and Sand — are being released on adidas Confirmed and at select retailers today, March 26.
