Aimé Leon Dore's founder Teddy Santis is now the Creative Director of New Balance MADE in USA. Santis broke the news on Instagram writing that he is " beyond proud, honored and humbled" to announce the role and that he will take the helm in 2022.

The news isn't exactly surprising as Aimé Leon Dore has released multiple collaborations with New Balance over the last while, including iterations of classic silhouettes like the 8271300997990v2, and 900v5. Santis was also integral to the re-release of the New Balance 550 and most recently teased the model's latest colorway, which is set to arrive this spring.

As the name suggests, New Balance's MADE in the USA line is dedicated to sneakers featuring 70% or more domestic-made materials, as well as being constructed in one of New Balance’s US factories. The 550 unfortunately isn't on the lineup, but with his new role, we can expect Santis to take on the 992, 993, and 990v5 models.

The news comes days after Highsnobiety favorite, Willy Chavarria was named senior vice president of design for Calvin Klein North America and Global Essentials apparel, men’s. Obviously, the big companies are making big moves in terms of hires, snapping up some of the best independent designers out there — and we can't wait to see the results.
