Suge Knight has pleaded no contest to a charge of voluntary manslaughter in the killing of Terry Carter, the BBC reports. He's set to be sentenced to 28 years in prison in October.

Knight ran over Carter and Cle "Bone" Sloan with his pickup truck outside a burger joint in Los Angeles in 2015 after an argument on the set of an ad for the movie Straight Outta Compton. Carter died of his injuries and Sloan's head and feet were seriously injured.

The former Death Row Records CEO pleaded no contest to the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter to avoid charges of murder and attempted murder. California law states that a no contest plea is equivalent to a guilty plea. According to prosecutors, Knight would have faced a life sentence if he had been found guilty of murder.

The deal means Knight will get 22 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter and another six due to the US "three strikes" law, which extends sentences for repeat violations.

Now, is Kanye West taking over the ‘New York Post’ and other papers today?
