After 10 years of fan demands, EA Play is finally releasing a follow-up to the iconic Skate game series, bringing back the original team to develop a still-unnamed title. Understandably, Twitter is freaking out.

EA made the announcement that the beloved franchise is returning on Twitter earlier today, sharing a video featuring Skate series producers Chris "Cuz" Perry and Deran Chung, with the caption "Skate is Back!"

"We really cannot believe you commented this into existence," Perry joked, referring to the tireless pleas by fans on social media to get EA to develop a new Skate. The team also revealed there's nothing to show at this stage as production is still “really early.” Watch the exciting announcement below.

In 2007, the first Skate installation emerged as a new competitor to challenge the overwhelming dominance of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. With its focus on realism and physics-based gameplay, Skate quickly emerged as a cornerstone of the genre and a fan favorite. Its success led to a sequel in 2009, but the franchise was unfortunately abandoned after the release of 2010's Skate 3.

Now fans are finally getting treated to another installation and many have taken to social media to share their excitement. Scroll down to check out some of the best reactions.
