Like most musicians, Rick Ross' road to stardom began long before the general public caught wind. The Mississippi-born Florida-bred rapper is chronicling his rise to fame in a new memoir, titled Hurricanes, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Ross co-wrote the book with Neil Martinez-Belkin, who also collaborated on The Autobiography of Gucci Mane.

“My story has always been deeper than rap,” Ross said in a statement. “With this book I wanted to go deeper than I ever have. I wanted to tell people about the life of William Leonard Roberts.”

According to the synopsis, Hurricanes sees Rozay diving into the experiences that now drive his creative process, from his upbringing in Carol City, Florida, to time spent as a drug dealer and correctional officer, drive-by shootings, and a 2015 arrest on kidnapping and assault charges.
