Double Tap to Zoom

Do you remember when Stüssy brought new life to Nike’s oldest running shoe? It’s pretty difficult to forget, seeing as the collaborative Nike LD-1000 sneakers were only released three weeks ago.

Well, Stüssy and Nike are already primed to release the follow-up to their first LD-1000 drop.

If you’re still licking your wounds because you were unable to cop the original LD-1000 colorways in time (as with all Nike and Stüssy sneakers, they flew off the shelves), here are two new colorways to try your luck on.

Similar to the first drop, the new release includes one muted take on the sneaker joined by a more eye-catching colorway. In this case, the “particle grey” rendition is the more wearable of the two while the “sanded gold and laser fuchsia” color combination is more brightly-colored and summery.

Details on the shoes include a knitted upper with hairy suede overlays, a woven double Swoosh, and Stüssy branding on the leather heel tab. And, of course, it’s finished with Nike’s famous waffle outsole.

It’s been six months of waiting since photos of the Nike and Stüssy LD-1000 first surfaced and now we’re being treated to two releases in a month: you can get your hands on these fresh colorways from August 2 via Stüssy’s website, Stüssy Chapter Stores, and select Dover Street Market locations.

This likely isn’t the last time Stüssy delivers a summery rendition of Nike’s Waffle sneaker. Leaks from earlier this month suggest there’s also a light-pink-hued pair with silver detailing in the pipeline.

Over 50 years after the Nike Waffle Runner was released, Stüssy’s continued collaborative releases are ensuring the slim-shaped, elderly running shoe continues to get the respect it deserves.
