Nike Method of Make is a lowkey product line providing classic sneakers with luxe makeovers. And it has quietly brought its elevated craftsmanship to the Nike Jordan 1.

Out of the many Jordan 1s released in the shoe’s storied 40-year history, they don’t get much silkier or softer than this. The Method of Make Jordan 1 is essentially a satin pillow for your feet.

Puffy satin fabric, which sinks inward to reveal the shoe’s paneling and swoosh-shaped stitching, covers the entire upper of Nike's new luxe shoe.

Even the laces, offered in a thicker material than usual, have a matching silver sheen.

The Jordan 1 is showing us its softer side, and it’s not the only Nike sneaker opting for a similarly silky fabrication.

More instantly recognizable, classic models from the Beaverton-based sportswear giant have also been embracing the soft touch of more velvety fabrics. The all-black Air Force 1, for example, has recently been reimagined with satin pink shoelaces while the Nike Cortez gets a silky girlcore update

Now Nike's Method of Make project is joining in the fun. After giving the Jordan 1 a tasteful woven leather look, the high-end product line has transformed the shoe into a seriously soft sneaker.
