New Balance has added a new running shoe to the family called the AC Runner.

Without the name, it's almost hard to tell what exactly this New Balance sneaker does. Is it a basketball shoe? Running sneaker? A sportswear-style model?

Really, it's all these things.

It's a chunky sports sneaker, complete with large soles infused with Fresh Foam X, the brand's cushioning technology used in other running shoes and trail models.

New Balance blends these performance specs with glowy futuristic details and its classic dadcore style to create this all-day, everyday kind of athletic shoe.

The brand explicitly notes that the AC Runner works for "conditioning runs, training, and drills," and pretty much whatever life brings in between.

Running shoes have certainly evolved over the years, having embraced more stylish looks. Some have even enjoyed spins from fashion's coolest labels.

They're still designed to provide the best and most comfortable running experience. But let's be honest: looking good is definitely second on the to-do list nowadays. And New Balance's AC Runner handles both.

New Balance is offering its new AC Runner in classic black and white colorways, both scheduled to drop on January 1 on the brand's website for $150.
