New Balance 992 may have ruled 2025. But the 991 is looking to come for the crown in 2026. We're barely through the first quarter of the year, and New Balance's Made in U.K. model continues to rack up top-tier designs.

Next up, the dad shoe gets dressed up in croc skin.

New Balance gives the 991 sneaker an all-white (off-white, really) leather makeover, but with a twist. If you look closely, the leather is finished with a crocodile-skin-like texture, creating a super low-key yet high-end feel for the 991 sneaker.

Call it a "quiet luxury" dad shoe, even.

New Balance has treated dad shoe lovers to some great 991s lately, from reverse takes on Daniëlle Cathari's matcha-inspired sneaker collab to those chocolate-flavored leather pairs that looked more Italian than British.

Basically, the efforts have been quite good. And the year of the 991 looks to only get better (and more scaly) with the release of these creamy croc dad shoes.

Speaking of which, New Balance's 991 "Oyster Gray / Pistachio Shell" has already started to populate at overseas retailers. But they're expected to get a wider release on New Balance's website in March.
