Loewe Fall/Winter 2020 Men’s. Paris, France

Editor's Notes

For FW20, Jonathan Anderson put an impudent twist on his trademark refined aesthetics. Ruched cocktail dresses were a key feature as the Northern Irishman explored '50s couture, harking at the idea of a young boy getting dressed in the mirror, his sartorial imagination running free before inevitably being suppressed by societal gender norms. Appliquéd, oversized shirts will go down well with the street style set, while the leather accessories were drool-worthy as always. The best men's designer in the world right now? Probably.

It was the idea of a fantasy wardrobe. How, when you wear clothing it can transform your character into what you want it to be.

Meet the Cape-Cho

Cape? Poncho? Whatever you want to call it, this trippy silhouette stunned in a Men's week dominated by knee-length overcoats.

Some UGG-ishness

After the world spent a couple years riffing on the Croc, Loewe FW20 suggests that the Ugg might be fashion's new favorite guilty pleasure silhouette. Anderson's patent spin on a leather bootie, befit with dangling charms, is haute-extra incarnate.

Kiss the Chef

After Anderson's LVMH compatriot Virgil Abloh opened his Vuitton show with a shirt plastered onto the front of a blazer, Loewe's collection doubled down by introducing the world to the cocktail dress apron. Let's dance!
