Double Tap to Zoom

Fresh off announcing his alliance with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation family, Lil Uzi Vert dropped a new track dubbed "Free Uzi" along with an accompanying visual. According to TMZ, the single has since been removed from Tidal and Apple Music due to licensing issues for using G Herbo's song "Gangway.

GoldLink also recently accused Lil Uzi Vert of copying him on "DMW Flow" in a post that has since been removed from Instagram Stories. "Lil uzi really stealing the DMV flow and is finna make millions," he wrote. "While the lil n****s here starve for their originality.”

This track came on the heels of Uzi’s dispute with his record label, DJ Drama and Don Cannon’s Generation Now, who he claims have prevented him from releasing his sophomore album, Eternal Atake. On "Free Uzi," the Philly rapper spits his bars in a rapid rate, backed by a constant beat, with a sense of expressing his emotional state in regards to his problems with his previous record label, as well as even admitting that he owes approximately $3 million in taxes.

Additionally, "Free Uzi" indicates Lil Uzi Vert's fresh start with Roc Nation. His Instagram account was recently wiped clean while his Stories remain active. As of March 28, the rapper's account is still verified, but no longer shows any posts. Watch the Qasquiat-directed music video below.
