A lot has changed in the four years since Kiko Kostadinov debuted his first fragrance. The designer has launched a retail empire, opening stores in Tokyo, Los Angeles, and London, where he resides. He’s also introduced new collaborators into the fold, like Levi’s, while deepening his ties with ASICS, establishing a new collaborative high-end line, and tailoring adventurous clothing worthy of a recent nomination for British Menswear Designer of the Year.

One of the few things that hasn’t changed is the Kiko Kostadinov scent.

Created with retaW, streetwear mastermind Hiroshi Fujiwara’s offering of natural beauty products made of locally sourced ingredients, Kostadinov’s debut scent is still his only scent.

The scent was perfect then and now, it’s just that the packaging is also perfect.

The fragrance, named “Fabaceae” after the purple-hued pea flower, combines cedarwood, sandalwood, and leather with earthy notes of vetiver and musk.

From December 11, it’ll be available in candle form, encased in a branded grey jar, alongside the long-sold-out Fabaceae perfume, still offered as a solid perfume that’s dabbed onto the skin (as opposed to sprayed). This promises a longer-lasting odor compared to liquid counterparts. This time, the perfume comes in a sleek silver case, a notable design switch-up from the stark grey tube it wore in 2021

When you’ve already created your ultimate aroma, there’s no need to toy with the recipe. But there are always new ways for it to be presented.
