Jimmy Fallon has taken to Twitter to apologize after a Saturday Night Live scene from 2000 went viral on social media earlier this week. The resurfaced scene features Fallon in blackface doing an impersonation of Chris Rock.

Following the resurfacing of the clip, many on social media called for Fallon to be cancelled. In his apology tweet, the late-night show host addressed the backlash that erupted and dubbed the move a "terrible decision." Fallon wrote, “There is no excuse for this. I am very sorry for making this unquestionably offensive decision and thank all of you for holding me accountable.”
