While most of the world readies itself for economic depression as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Jeff Bezos, the world's richest man, is on his way to becoming the first trillionaire.

According to a study by Comparisun, the Amazon CEO's fortune is steadily growing — so much so that he is projected to become a trillionaire by 2026.

As its customer base continues to self-isolate, Amazon has seen a surge in demand over the last months, leading to a reported $75.5 billion in revenue for the first quarter of 2020. To meet the rising number of orders, Amazon employees have reported significant risk and exposure to the virus at work. One warehouse worker has passed away from Covid-19

News of Bezos' path to trillionaire status has understandably sparked outrage, with many people taking to social media to express their disgust. Scroll down to see how users on Twitter are using the hashtag "RIPCapitalism" to criticize the obscene wealth gap.
