Double Tap to Zoom

Gucci has been pushing the boundaries of collaboration this year. Notable ventures include gaming, tapping 100 Thieves for a capsule collection, partnering with The North Face for another co-branded range, staging a show on Hollywood Boulevard, and creating a "hacking" with Balenciaga, a rumored collab with adidas, and a limited-edition Xbox – a pretty impressive selection, to say the least.

There's no doubt that Gucci is always looking to expand its brand universe, and for its latest collaboration, the luxury label has tapped Superplastic.

Revealed on the Superplastic Twitter and Instagram profiles, the account wrote "welcome to tha fam" and shared a visual with the two brand's logos. No other information was included, leaving fans excited in the comment section.

For those unfamiliar, Superplastic has created two figures – Janky and Guggimon and is the world's premier creator of designer toys and apparel. Founded by Paul Budnitz, who also founded Kidrobot, the company is focusing on creating virtual and synthetic superstars and giving them their own identity.

The label has previously collaborated with names including J. Balvin, Rico Nasty, Fortnite, Gorillaz, and so on, with plenty more on the way.

It remains to be seen what the Gucci x Superplastic partnership will entail, but we're expecting a collaborative figure and potentially, even something digital such as an NFT or a game. Knowing Gucci, the budget is big and the vision is even bigger.

Stay tuned as more information surrounding the collaboration surfaces.
