Contemporary sportswear label GALL has recently launched its Fall/Winter 2018 collection and it’s filled with futuristic, multi-functional designs perfect for channeling one's inner ninja.

Founded in Rome in 2013, GALL takes sportswear into uncommon territories with dynamic cuts, complex functional features, and distinctive prints. This modern take on military aesthetics is designed to instill a slight sense of hostility and animosity while stimulating the wearer’s self-confidence. The collections’ names follow suit, with previous drops titled “Unborn Survival”, “Hyper Formation”, and “Fear No Human”.

Continuing in this vein, this season's collection “Mongrel” evolves the futuristic and functional feel of previous seasons by increasing the technical aspect of garments for enhanced performance and a stronger visual impact. The abstract camouflage prints, taken from an artwork created by the brand’s designer Justin Gall, inject color into the predominantly black range.

Encompassing a range of clothing and accessories all produced in Italy, this season's standout pieces include a range of highly technical coats, multi-functional waterproof pants, and a selection of face masks.

Although GALL is entering its seventh season, the story behind the Rome-based brand remains somewhat mysterious with the elusive founders, Chiara Nardelli and Justin Gall, preferring to run their tight ship in isolation, away from prying eyes. All that’s really known about them is that Gall is American but relocated to Italy, presumably before starting the brand, and that they present in Milan at 88showroom and in Paris at Noseason showroom. No doubt they will become increasingly present as the brand gains traction in the future, so make sure to keep the name in mind if you dig their designs.

GALL's FW18 collection “Mongrel” is available for pre-order now.
