Double Tap to Zoom

Frank Ocean recently dropped his publicity-dodging ways to pilot the new Prada SS20 menswear campaign. Frank, photographed by David Sims, is dressed in Spring/Summer pieces by the Italian fashion house in editorial images that pack several talking points — perhaps none more worthy of parley than the presence of the bolo tie.

Prada's FW20 collection, put on display in Milan earlier this month, signaled a return to tailoring, exploring the archetypes of male dress through Miuccia's libertarian lens. Traditionally, menswear has had a thing for formality over function, and the bolo tie is a perfect example.

With its roots in America's Southwest, the bolo is a bonafide western staple. The cowboy is a style reference that will no doubt never die, and if this Prada accessory is a result of that immortality, then we're more than ok with that. As well as the as-seen-on-Frank black, you'll find a brown leather edition of the Prada bolo below. We're betting on this being a big look for Spring/Summer 2020.

Here's where to buy the Prada bolo tie.
