adidas' flattest Stan Smith sneaker gone ultra-breezy.

After turning the thin-soled model into a luxury ballet flat, the sportswear brand gives the Stan Smith Lo a basketweave treatment, trading in the usual smooth uppers for extra-breathable woven leather.

What's more, adidas even plays on one of the Stan Smith's most classic colorways, maintaining the legacy in a new stylish way.

We've seen the adidas Stan Smith change quite a few times over the years, for the better, of course. CLOT reimagined it as the ultimate summer espadrille hybrid. There was also the Y-3 versions, which were essentially "quiet luxury" Stan Smiths.

In between, adidas itself has served up some fine iterations, like the dressy Stan Smith Freizeit and, again, these super-flat-soled sneakers. Now, it's gone wonderfully woven.

The airy Stan Smith Los are part of a larger "Basketweave" collection that also includes the Samba and ballet-coded Taekwondo Mei sneakers. Each sneaker features braided leather uppers, with adidas quite literally breathing new life into these mega-classic designs.

adidas' "Basketweave" sneakers are expected to drop on the brand's website in the spring, hopefully in time for the first warm-cool breeze of the season.
